Man killed in Southeast DC shooting identified

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) has released the name of the man who died in a shooting in Southeast D.C. on Monday.
In an update, police identified the man as 23-year-old Jakele Allen, of Northeast.
According to the police department, on Oct. 21 around 9:44 a.m., officers were called to 16th Street and Kentucky Avenue for a shooting.
Upon arrival, police found Allen with gunshot wounds, unconscious and not breathing.

Police said medics performed several life-saving measures on Allen but he died at the scene.
At this time, a person has not been arrested in connection to the shooting.

Police said it offers a reward of up to $25,000 for anyone who provides information that leads to an arrest and conviction.
