Former LSU football star Andrew Whitworth named to 2024 SEC Football Legends class

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — The Southeastern Conference announced on Tuesday that former LSU football star Andrew Whitworth has been named to the 2024 SEC Football Legends class.
Whitworth was a four-year starter at offensive tackle for the Tigers from 2002-05. During his time in Baton Rouge, Whitworth earned first-team All-SEC honors in 2004 and 2005, as well as helping the Tigers win the BCS National Championship in 2003, according to LSU Athletics.
He also earned second-team All-America honors in 2005 and Freshman All-America honors in 2002. According to LSU Athletics, after finishing up his career at LSU, Whitworth was drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals in the second round of the 2006 NFL Draft.

According to LSU Athletics, Whitworth spent 16 seasons in the NFL. During his career in the NFL, Whitworth was selected to the Pro Bowl four times, named first-team All-Pro twice and won a Super Bowl with the Los Angeles Rams.
Whitworth will join 15 other SEC Football Legends honored at the 2024 SEC Football "Weekend of Champions" on Dec. 6-7 in Atlanta. According to LSU Athletics, the class will also be recognized at the SEC Football Championship Game on Saturday, Dec. 7.
