LADSON, S.C. (WCBD) – The return of the Coastal Carolina Fair is a true sign that fall is here! This year’s event opens on Halloween and runs through November 10. Visitors can enjoy a variety of entertainment, rides, and food, and browse myriad vendors and exhibits over the 11-day run at the Ladson fairgrounds. The fair features dozens of rides along the Midway fitting for everyone and be sure to say hello to our furry friends in the ‘All-American Petting Zoo.’ Plus, you can browse local businesses in the expo hall and set your eyes on many arts and crafts showcases. Get your taste buds ready as the fair is home to many fun foods like funnel cakes, elephant ears, turkey legs, pizza, corn dogs, popcorn, and many other fair favorites. This year's entertainment includes Elise Testone, Travis Denning, a Taylor Swift tribute act, Drake Milligan, Drew Baldridge, and The Bacon Brothers featuring actor Kevin Bacon. Buy your tickets early to take advantage of discounts: Tickets can be purchased through the fair’s website or at Circle K stores in the Charleston area in advance. Early ticket prices are $13 for ages 13 and older, $6 for children aged 6-13, and free for children under 5. Ride wristbands for all ages are $25. Ticket prices will slightly increase when the fair opens for the season. Beginning Oct. 31, tickets will be $15 for adults (13 and older), $6 for children aged 6-12, and ride wristbands range from $30 to $35 depending on the day when purchased at the fair gates or Circle K stores. There are some deals throughout the fair. On opening day and Nov. 7, people who purchase their tickets at Circle K can bring a friend for free. Admission does not include rides. Military, first responders, and tri-county 911 dispatchers will receive free admission with a guest on Nov. 1 and 8; however, you must show a valid ID. Purchase a ride wristband on Nov. 5 at the gate or Midway booth and your friend will get a free wristband. “Beware of scammers,” the Coastal Carolina Fair warned. “We will never send you links to claim a prize or ask for any personal information other than your name.
