AGAWAM, Mass. (WWLP) - The unseasonably warm weather has been a welcome surprise for many golf courses, leading to an increase in sales and activity on the greens. One such course, Oak Ridge Golf Club in Agawam, has seen a significant rise in the number of golfers taking advantage of the warm temps. Owner Tony Strycharz says their sales are nearly triple of what they normally see this time of year. Monday alone, Oak Ridge saw close to 100 players on the course. Strycharz tells 22News he is excited about this increase in business. "Great to see everybody coming out, enjoying the course, enjoying the warm weather, definitely helps this time of year when we are starting to wind down," he said. "We do stay open all year at Oak Ridge, depending on if there is no snow." With this increase in profits, Strycharz says it will help with their winter budget and supporting their big competitive events like scrambles that come up every Sunday.
