The workweek has started on the same warm and sunny note the weekend ended on. Expect more of the same over the coming days as a powerful ridge of high pressure continues to make itself at home over the Eastern Seaboard. We’ll see more 70s than anything else in the Piedmont and Foothills this week, but the Queen City – and especially areas southward – could step into the 80s once or twice. The High Country will enjoy temperatures closer to 70° on the dot before a cold front pushes in from the northwest by Thursday morning. The incoming front will weaken significantly before getting here; rain chances won’t budge much and temperature changes will be negligible. Instead, we get more of the same as another equally robust area of high pressure settles in behind the front. Highs may soar well into the 80s by next Saturday before a second cold front cuts down any temperature gains we see. Tonight: Clear and cool. Low: 46°. Wind: Light. Tuesday: Warm sunshine. High: 80°. Wind: NE 5-10. Tuesday Night: Remaining clear. A bit milder. Low: 50°. Wind: Light. Wednesday: Another lovely day. High: 80°. Wind: W 5-10.
