ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) –  The UNM Football team is now on a 3-game winning streak for the first time since 2016, after beating Utah State on the road, 50-45. Saturdays victory was big for this program, because not only did it mark their 3rd straight but it also showcased their fight to comeback and win the game late. Two defensive stops late in the game were crucial to the victory, but so was UNM's ability to score the ball on offense. Quarterback Devon Dampier and wide receiver Luke Wysong are proving to be a very dynamic duo for this UNM offense. Dampier finished with 4 total touchdowns in the victory and while Wysong didn't find the endzone, he did lead the team in receptions for a 6th straight game. You know, now that we are playing conference why would I lose trust in him. So, when I need something and I need that first down, I know Luke is going to go get it," said Devon Dampier. Wysong finished with a career high of 10 receptions while racking up a career high of 156 yards. Wysong credited his chemistry with Dampier, on and off the field, to their dynamic play, but he also says that the offense as a whole is really just clicking right now. "Our total offense in general you know, credit goes out to our offensive lineman you know they have put up a forefront all year and they have been doing so good, and to our run game that we have been having the past two games, as you guys have seen its opened up our pass game even more now. So, really just credit to everyone, Dev, the tight ends, everyone," said Luke Wysong. Now 3-4 overall on the season and 2-1 in Mountain West Conference play, UNM moves on to play at Colorado State on Saturday at 3pm.
