PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) —  A Providence teen’s cat, who has helped a 16-year-old girl through health challenges and other obstacles, is missing. After two weeks, Willa Nelson is worried her cat, Jingle, could have been stolen. Nelson was gifted Jingle for Christmas when she was nine years old. “I was so excited because my brother, he’s allergic to cats, so we actually got Jingle,” Nelson said. “She’s a Bengal and Bengal’s are hypoallergenic so I was just so excited that I could finally have a cat.” However, the inseparable bond the two shared was broken when Jingle went missing two weeks ago. Jingle was by Nelson’s side through the challenges that come with being a teenager, hard times at school, and other obstacles. “My whole family, we’re just worried sick looking for her,” Nelson said. “Whenever I get home she’s there and I just really miss seeing her. Last year, I also had a few health issues and when I came back, Jingle was always there to sit next to me or just be there so yeah, I miss her a lot.” Jingle is a Bengal cat that has a unique silver charcoal leopard coloring, which can come with a substantial price tag. “At this point, we’re thinking she’s either probably getting fed by somebody or somebody may have taken her,” Nelson said. Nelson said she lets her cat out around 6:45 every night and Jingle usually returns throughout the night for treats before she’s let back inside around 10 p.m. “The night that she went missing, she didn’t actually come back since 6:45, and we had run out of treats that day so she was probably looking for food somewhere,” she said. Nelson filed a report with the Providence Police Department and posted flyers around the east side of the city, where Jingle was last seen. If you think you’ve seen Jingle, you’re asked to email [email protected]. Categories: News, Providence, Rhode Island
