VAN WERT COUNTY, Ohio (WANE) — A three-car crash in Van Wert County killed one driver and his passenger, according to Ohio State Highway Patrol. Zachary Wood was driving a compact car and stopped to make a left turn off of US 127 into a driveway. Timothy Kiester was driving a pickup truck behind Wood and crashed into his car, sending Wood's car into the oncoming lane. They were hit by a semi-truck, Wood and his passenger Logan Elder were both pronounced dead at the scene by the Van Wert County Coroner's Office. The driver of the semi, Christopher Poland, was transported to a hospital for injuries from the crash. The Van Wert branch of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is still investigating the crash.
