BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — The Baton Rouge Police arrested a man accused of shooting a man after an argument in September. Javin Moore, 19, was arrested on charges of two counts of attempted first-degree murder, two counts of aggravated criminal damage to property and illegal use of weapons and dangerous instrumentalities. According to police, officers were called to the 5000 block of Highland Road on Sept. 15 about a shooting. Upon arrival, officers found a male victim with a gunshot wound to the shoulder. Witnesses informed detectives that the victim and his girlfriend were driving a red sedan south on Lee Drive behind a white Kia Optima. Witnesses said the Kia repeatedly slammed on its brakes, forcing the victim to attempt to pass the Optima. When the two vehicles reached a traffic light, the drivers argued. The driver of the Optima reportedly pulled in front of the victim, blocking the victim's car and throwing a soda can at the windshield. The victim exited his vehicle and stood by his door when Moore reportedly fired shots from the Kia Optima. The driver of the Optima told detectives Moore began firing shots because he reportedly saw a gun in the victim's hand, according to the affidavit. The victim was shot in the shoulder and lived.
