A power outage Saturday afternoon that affected more than 5,000 customers in downtown, Balboa Park and Golden Hill was restored after 7 p.m., according to San Diego Gas & Electric. Spokesperson Anthony Wagner said the outage started around 4:30 p.m., leaving about 5,300 customers without power. The utility said the cause appeared to be an equipment failure. “We are in the process of fixing it and getting everybody back online within the hour,” said Wagner.
