Adam Lenz, Head of Sustainability and Environment at Waymo, says connecting people to public transportation was always "at the heart of Waymo's mission," saying the following: "By offering electric rides on demand and improving access to public transit, Waymo One is making daily travel more sustainable and convenient. Our riders consistently tell us they value sustainability, and we're proud to offer it as a core benefit to the communities we serve," Lenz said. Waymo officials say this is the first time an AV company has created a public transit credit program with an all-electric ride-hailing service. The AV company has also launched a "sustainability page" that provides information on Waymo's environmental impact. Over 100,000 electric rides have been completed around Waymo's main three metro areas: the San Francisco Bay Area, the metro Phoenix area, and Los Angeles County.
