NORTH DAKOTA (KXNET) — A man has been rushed to the hospital, and may soon be facing charges after a collision between a semi-truck and a train in Cass County on the morning of Saturday, October 19. According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, at approximately 8:24 a.m., a Kenworth semi truck pulling a trailer loaded with gravel was traveling eastbound in the 14100 Block of 25th Street Southeast (approximately one mile Northwest of Ayr) when its driver failed to stop for the automatic arms at a railroad crossing. This caused one of the train's railcars to stroke the front of the truck. North Dakota Crime Tracker 2024 The Kenworth eventually came to rest in the roadway facing east. Its driver — a 36-year-old man from Penitas, Texas — was transported to Sanford Hospital in Fargo for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, and charges against him are pending.
