MIDDLEBOROUGH, Mass. (WLNE) — The Middleborough Health Department has condemned a house and plans to remove over a dozen dogs in need of medical care, according to the Town of Middleborough.
Middleborough Animal Control responded to the Precinct Street home on Friday to execute an administrative warrant in an animal welfare investigation.
17 dogs in need of medical care were located inside the residence, none of which had access to food or water, and were living in filth.
Animal control is currently caring for one dog that needed immediate medical attention.
Two cats, a turtle and a guinea pig were also found at the address.
The MSPCA Law Enforcement Department also executed a criminal warrant due to horses at the address.
The house was condemned as a health hazard, as well as a fire hazard.
No criminal charges have been filed, but the investigation by Middleborough police remains ongoing.
