KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- It will be a weekend full of activities and various sporting events in Kansas City, so if you are looking for something to do, we’ve got you covered! Here are 10 events going on this weekend — Oct. 18 through Oct. 20 — that are worth checking out. Cornucopia Kansas City Power and Light is hosting its Cornucopia Fall Fest this weekend. Friday through Sunday, the festival will have carnival rides, live music, family-friendly fun, and a petting zoo. It's free to attend, but you'll need to buy tickets for some activities. Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult at all times. It starts at 4:00 p.m. Friday. Kansas City Marathon The Garmin Kansas City Marathon is on Saturday morning. The full and half marathons both begin at 7 a.m., the 10k starts at 7:30 a.m. and the 5k at 7:45 a.m. Please be careful if you're driving downtown Saturday morning. Several roads will be closed off for the race. Late Night in the Phog Late Night in the Phog is this weekend! KU men's and women's basketball teams host scrimmages to kick off the season. It's the 40th year of the event. Grammy award-winning artist Lil Jon is performing. He has singles like "Turn Down For What" and "Yeah" with Usher. It starts Friday night at 6:30 at the newly renovated Allen Fieldhouse. Dark Forrest at Powell Gardens The Dark Forest is back at Powell Gardens! The group Quixotic is hosting the spooky light show on a path through the botanical gardens in Kingsville. This year, they're adding new "fire feasts," which you'll eat while watching pop-up fire performances. It starts Friday night and will continue on weekends through Nov. 2. KU vs Houston at Arrowhead Stadium The Jayhawks are looking for a rebound this weekend. They face Houston at Arrowhead Stadium.Kickoff is at 2:30 on Saturday afternoon. The cheapest ticket we found was $6 on StubHub. That's before taxes and fees, of course.KU's record is 1-5. They haven't won a single game in conference play. KC Current vs San Diego The KC Current takes on the San Diego Wave on Saturday. The first kick is at noon at CPKC Stadium. The cheapest seats we found for this game is $46 on StubHub. This is their last home match of the season. Dogtober Fest Join Jackson County Parks & Rec for "Dogtober" this weekend! It's on Sunday at the Kemper Outdoor Education Center in Blue Springs. There will be a "Howl-o-ween" costume contest, frisbee catching, games and food trucks.More than 75 vendors will be on hand, with the latest in doggie apparel and treats. It's free -- with a donation of dry or canned dog food. Planet Anime Planet Anime begins Friday in Kansas City! You might see a lot of people in costumes walking around downtown this weekend. The Planet Comicon spinoff anime convention brings together creators, voice actors, vendors, artists, cosplayers, and more. You can also check out new arcade games you won't see anywhere else in the metro. It starts at 5 p.m. at Bartle Hall and runs through Sunday. Tickets start at $58. The Fray at the Truman The Fray is performing in KC this weekend. Their debut album in 2005 had huge success with the quadruple-platinum song, "How to Save a Life." They're playing at the Truman on Friday night at 8. Tickets start at $45. Kristin Chenoweth at the Kaufmann Center Emmy and Tony Award-winning actress Kristin Chenoweth is in town this weekend. She was the original "Glinda" in the "Wicked" musical on Broadway. She's performing at the Kauffman Center. She has shows on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Tickets are still on sale for all shows. The cheapest is $64. They can be bought on the KC Symphony website.
