MILWAUKEE, Wis. (WFRV) — A 37-year-old man was taken into custody late Wednesday night after allegedly exchanging gunfire with Milwaukee Police officers. The incident occurred on Oct. 16, 2024, shortly after 11:15 p.m., when officers patrolling the 2100 block of W. North Ave. heard shots fired. Multiple ShotSpotter alerts were also registered at the location. Three people, two from Green Bay, arrested following an almost 7-mile pursuit in Fond du Lac County When police arrived, the suspect reportedly fired several shots at the officers’ squad car. One officer returned fire, and the man fled into a nearby building. A tactical response was initiated, and the building was searched. The suspect was located and arrested without further incident. ‘Getting out of hand’: Green Bay venues warn against secondary ticket sites, urge buying from official sources Police reported that no one appeared to be injured by the officer's gunfire. The investigation is ongoing, and criminal charges are expected to be referred to the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office. No additional information has been released at this time.
