The cold front arrived as expected, and the terribly gusty winds started early in the morning on the west slopes. The peak gust at the airport was 30 mph today out of the east. On the other side of the mountain, that meant a peak gust closer to 50 mph. The official high is 78, which is 2 degrees BELOW normal. (When was the last time we talked about being below normal?) Weather Watcher Donna Okinga-Nathan sent in this picture of the Organ Mountains from this morning. TONIGHT:  The skies will be partly to mostly cloudy as the gusty winds of the cold front start to die down in the night.  The east winds will range from 10-30 mph with the strongest gusts on the west slopes of the mountains.  A few raindrops may be possible as well with a low of 58. FORECAST:   Thursday will be partly to mostly cloudy with scattered showers and even some isolated t-storms.  Thursday's high will be 77, but the best part of Thursday shall be the lighter winds.  The S winds will range from 5-15 mph.  Friday will be mostly sunny to partly cloudy with much warmer winds.  The SW winds will gust to near 25 mph, and the high will pop back up to 83.  On Saturday, a powerful low-pressure system sits over Arizona.  We'll get cloudy skies, cool wind gusts to 35 mph, a high of 74, and a few raindrops here and there. Sunday will be mostly sunny and warmer with a high of 80 thanks to warmer SW winds. Monday will be sunny and 84.
