Central Ohio Weather and Radar QUICK WEATHER FORECAST: Tonight: Clearing skies, frost likely, freeze possible in most spots, low 33 Thursday: Turning mostly sunny, high 61 Friday: Brisk start, sunny, high 67 Saturday: Sunny & warmer, high 71 Sunday: Great day, bright & warm, high 74 FORECAST DISCUSSION Good Wednesday Evening, It has been a gray and chilly day today, with temps starting just above freezing, and only climbing back to the lower 50s to upper 40s in spots this afternoon. The stubborn cloud deck should thin this evening, and that, along with winds relaxing to light to calm, will allow for at minimum an areawide frost. More likely tonight, is that most areas outside of the outbelt in Columbus will have the first freeze of the season. Inside the outerbelt, some areas may be able to hold on to temps just above freezing, while some of the cool spots around the city will flirt with freezing temps. At any rate, these are not record lows for the 17th, which are in the middle 20s. Thursday should be a nicer day, as low level moisture will not be the same as today, meaning less clouds, more sunshine, and warmer temps, still about a handful off the normal in the lower 60s. We will have another chilly start Friday morning, but a beautiful afternoon with highs in the upper 60s. Numbers will start in the 60s and drop into the 50s for FFN Friday night. The weekend looks pretty much as ideal as you could forecast for a 3rd weekend in October, with TONS of sunshine, fair mornings, and very mild afternoons in the lower to middle 70s. We will stay warm into next week with temps in the mid 70s with plenty of sunshine on Monday and Tuesday. Expect clouds to increase a bit by Tuesday, along with a bit more of a southwesterly flow ahead of a cold front that will lumber its way into our area by the middle of next week. This should increase clouds on Wednesday, with isolated showers possible late Wednesday into Wednesday night with the front. Ahead of the front, temps will still be above normal, well above normal in the lower 70s. -Dave
