MUNCIE, Ind. — A Muncie woman is accused of beating her father with a cane after arguing over the worth of a cigarette coupon. After possibly breaking the older man's hand, the woman allegedly turned her abuse on arriving law enforcement officers — chucking a pressure washer at a police chief. Fisher finds human bone in Wabash River, coroner says Angie Lynn Yost, 50, was arrested on Tuesday on preliminary charges of domestic battery and resisting law enforcement. She is currently being held in Delaware County Jail on a $10,000 bond. According to court documents, a Delaware County Sheriff's Department deputy was called out to a home on State Road 3 on Tuesday afternoon on report of a domestic battery. Andrew Storie, the chief of the Eaton Police Department, arrived first at the home to find Yost's father with a badly injured hand. Police said the hand appeared broken with Yost allegedly admitting to inflicting the injury by picking up her father's cane and beating him with it. The attack allegedly occurred because Yost became angry with her father after she told him a cigarette coupon was "worth a lot of money" and he disagreed. Yost reportedly told the police chief, "You're not going to arrest me." When Storie attempts to cuff her, Yost is accused of swinging a mop at him. Chief Storie then used his Taser on Yost, but Yost managed to get back up from the ground and throw a pressure washer at the chief — freeing herself from the prongs of the Taser in the process. Yost ended up being taken to the ground by Storie and secured in handcuffs. Yost's father was taken to the hospital for treatment where he reportedly told police he didn't want his daughter in jail and instead wanted her to get help for her "mental illness." Yost, meanwhile, had to be wheelchaired out of the hospital due to resisting police officers who were attempting to take her to jail. Court records show that Yost has a history of clashing with law enforcement officers. She has been charged with resisting law enforcement and criminal trespass twice since 2021. Final charges in this incident will be decided by the Delaware County Prosecutor's Office.
