(WGHP) — Upper-level winds have been roaring across our skies overnight, producing a band of clouds and showers here in the Piedmont.  We didn't have much moisture to work with, so there may have been a few hundredths of an inch, mainly in the southern Piedmont. This band of precipitation is continuing to move to the Coastal Plain this morning, and we'll have a solid clearing trend into midday. By this afternoon, skies are expected to be partly cloudy. It's going to be a breezy day overall, with cooler-than-normal temperatures. Highs will be in the upper-50s and winds will be 10-15 mph with higher gusts. A Frost Advisory will go into effect tonight from the Triad southward between 2 a.m. and 10 a.m.  Skies will be clear, and lows are expected to dip into the mid-to upper-30s.  Scattered frost may be a threat to tender vegetation. In the Triad, we're expecting lows to stay in the upper 30s with the threat of frost mainly in outlying areas. Sunny skies return tomorrow, and high pressure will keep the state sunny through the beginning of next week. Thursday is the first day of early voting in North Carolina, and though the morning will be cold, we will be warming into the lower-60s by the afternoon.   The warm-up continues, as high pressure pushes temperatures into the upper-60s on Friday, and lower-70s this weekend! The beginning of the work week keeps this trend going. Sunny with temperatures warming into the mid-70s Monday and Tuesday.
