Veterans of the Game Thread know how we do things around here, but for all you newbies we have a few rules. Our community guidelines apply and basically say be cool, no personal attacks, don’t troll and don’t swear too much. The regular season is just over a week away, but the Spurs have two more practice games left to wrap up the preseason. Tonight is the only preseason contest against an Eastern Conference team, Erik Spoelstra’s Heat. This is a team that is always in the hunt come playoff time, and can pull off some big upsets. But tonight’s game is just a chance to see Stephon Castle in action once again and witness the speedy Blake Wesley burst onto the NBA scene. Victor Wembanyama may or may not play, but for sure we’ll see plenty of Mamu, as he is always ready to shoot or pass to his teammates. The Spurs have one more preseason game left after tonight, against the Rockets on Friday, and then the real games start next week in Dallas against the Mavericks, who added Klay Thompson to the backcourt to help out Luka Doncic. It’s going to be fun. * Preseason basketball Game Prediction: Spoelstra will challenge Pop to a poker game in an attempt to win Castle, but instead will lose one of his championship rings.
