New Orleans Police Department K9 retires after seven years

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The New Orleans Police Department has announced the retirement of one of its four-legged officers.

The NOPD reported that K-9 Jo is retiring at 10 years old after seven years of service with the department.
Jo assisted with investigations, security sweeps, sniffing out explosives and school visits.

Now, Joe will spend his time relaxing with his handler Emilio Alemann and four-legged friends Mr. Jorge the Pug and Juan Carlos.
In a post to social media, NOPD officials wished Jo the best on his retirement, saying "Huge congratulations to one of the best boys in the NOPD, K9 Jo!"
