BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — The New Orleans Saints announced that they will be honoring legendary quarterback Drew Brees at halftime of Thursday night's game against the Denver Broncos. During the halftime ceremony, Brees will be inducted into the Saints Hall of Fame, celebrating his exceptional impact on the franchise and the city of New Orleans. According to ESPN, Brees concluded his career in the NFL with 80,358 passing yards and 571 touchdowns. Saints gameday announcer Doug Moreau will also be honored and will receive the Joe Gemelli "Fleur de Lis" Award for his contributions over the years, according to a news release. Fans attending Thursday night's game against the Broncos will receive a Brees-themed rally towel. Fans are also encouraged to wear black to the game.
