OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) - The Oklahoma City Police Department has identified the 77-year-old woman killed in an officer-involved shooting on October 10. Officials say officers responded to an auto-pedestrian collision at around 10:30 p.m. near NW 122nd Street and N MacArthur Boulevard. PREVIOUS COVERAGE: ‘She presented a threat to officers’: One dead after collision, officer-involved shooting Upon arrival, officers found the suspect, identified as 77-year-old Annette Prince, with a gun. She refused to drop the weapon and started firing gun shots into the ground, police say. “After the collision, that suspect had a firearm and was shooting off rounds from that firearm,” said Capt. Valerie Littlejohn with OKCPD. According to OKCPD, officers tried a less lethal method to deescalate the situation, but Prince continued to refuse to drop the gun. She eventually pointed the gun at officers, resulting in her being shot and killed. PREVIOUS COVERAGE: Police investigating after car crash leads to officer-involved shooting Police say the incident began with Prince being a passenger in a vehicle driven by a woman she knew. For unknown reasons, Prince shot the driver twice, prompting the driver to get out of the car to run away. Prince then got into the driver's seat, turned the car around and ran over the shooting victim. Officials say Prince tried to leave but crashed the car near NW 122nd St. and MacArthur Blvd. That is where she was met with officers. The woman who was shot and ran over was taken to a nearby hospital with serious injuries.
