ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — News 8 WROC is teaming up with the American Red Cross to host a telethon to support those affected by Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton. Thousands of customers in Florida have lost power following the two hurricanes, multiple people died as a result of the hurricanes, and residents are trying to find alternative living arrangements after their homes were destroyed. Supporting law enforcement, first responders amid hurricane relief efforts News 8's telethon to support the Red Cross's relief efforts will be held on Wednesday, October 16 from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. If you're watching, you will be able to call in and donate to support the recovery effort.
