Another chilly and calm night will follow, but it won't get as cold as last night. A few spots to the west will drop into the upper 30s, but most locations will only fall into the 40s. Around DC and near the Chesapeake Bay, it will bottom out in the low 50s. This warming trend will continue into the weekend, with another sunny day ahead on Saturday. It will be the perfect day to go out and enjoy all of the fall activities around the DMV, with afternoon highs climbing into the upper 70s. A few clouds will return Saturday night, keeping overnight lows warmer for a second straight night. Cloud cover will continue to increase on Sunday as a front drops down from the north, clipping by the DMV. Most of us will only see the increased cloud cover, but closer to the PA-MD line, there is a chance for a few showers, especially Sunday evening and Sunday night. Peak readings Sunday afternoon will still reach the 70s, but the next burst of colder air will arrive behind the front for the beginning of next week. As the low over the Great Lakes pivots to the east, northwesterly winds will pick up on Monday and bring in the next surge of cold air. Under mostly cloudy skies, it will be about 10-15 degrees colder, with highs only reaching the low to mid-60s. Additional showers will be possible across the mountains west of I-81, but the rest of the area will stay dry. It will feel like the middle of fall from Monday night through Wednesday, with breezy winds keeping the colder air around. High temperatures each afternoon will barely reach the middle to upper 50s, with low temperatures falling into the 30s to around 40 degrees. Some locations that didn't see frost this week could see some next week. Sunny skies and slightly warmer temperatures will be on tap for the end of next week with high pressure overhead. 7-Day Forecast: Tonight: Mostly clear skies.
