SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) -- A neighborhood in North County has made it on a list of the most expensive zip codes in the entire country. It's also the only San Diego County zip code on that same list. According to data gathered by PropertyShark, 92067 in Rancho Santa Fe is No. 9 out of the top 100 most expensive zip codes in the U.S. with home sales reaching a median price of $4.55 million in 2024. City of Escondido passes temporary moratorium on battery energy storage sites In fact, the table shows that Rancho Santa Fe's 92067 was one of just 15 zip codes in the U.S. to reach the $4 million threshold. 92067 in Rancho Santa Fe even surpassed New York City's most expensive zip code, 10013 in TriBeCa, which was only No. 23 in the nationwide list with a median sale price of $3.36. However, New York City remains the top city for expensive real estate with six of the country's priciest zip codes, including two in TriBeCa plus parts of Downtown Manhattan, Battery Park City, and SoHo. Meanwhile, Atherton, Calif. has taken the No. 1 spot for most expensive zip code in the U.S. for its 8th consecutive year, reaching a whopping median sale price of $7.9 million in 2024. California remains the most expensive state to live in, with 80 total zip codes included in the top 100. For the full list, click here. Despite most of the most expensive zip codes in the country being in the state of California, 92067 is the only one on the list from San Diego County. On the other hand, Los Angeles, Santa Clara and Orange counties had the highest concentration of expensive zip codes, with more than 10 each, according to PropertyShark. To determine the most expensive zip codes, PropertyShark looked at transactions closed between Jan. 1 and Sept. 30 including condos, co-ops, and single- and two-family home sales. Median sale prices were rounded to the nearest $1,000.
