Burger Stevens. | Burger Stevens Plus, Portland is in its zero-proof renaissance, and a new food hall is headed to the Hollywood District Burger Stevens, a popular burger cart in the Prost Marketplace pod, suddenly closed on Sunday, September 29, after eight years of business. Before moving to Prost in 2020, Burger Stevens operated out of Pioneer Square. The cart announced its closure on Instagram: “Open til 7:00 today then we out,” the post read. “Hope u enjoyed the burgers!” Eater reached out to Burger Stevens for comment but hasn’t heard back yet. Burger Stevens opened in 2016 when the smash burger craze hadn’t hit Portland yet. The cart served a tight menu offering different sizes of the classic cheeseburger, including a double and a snack-sized. In addition to burgers, the cart also offered hot dogs and fries. During its tenure, Burger Stevens was regarded as one of the best burgers in Portland. Luckily, owners Don Salamone and Kate Laurents will still be cooking at Don’s Favorite Foods in Beaverton. A new spot from Zoiglhaus Brewing The Oregonian reports that the team behind Southeast Portland’s Zoiglhaus Brewing is opening a new brewery and food hall in the Hollywood District. Before housing this new project, the space was home to Laurelwood Brewing. One of the owners of Zoiglhaus, Alan Taylor, told The Oregonian that the new food hall would feature an “eclectic” mix of cuisines.
