Cooler temperatures, clear skies expected for NOLA through the weekend
Oct 09, 2024
NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — As Hurricane Milton moves across the Florida peninsula tonight, our local weather remains calm and pleasant. A front moving into the central Gulf has brought dry air into the region, creating clear skies and cooler temperatures.
For the rest of the week, conditions will stay quiet. Overnight lows are expected to dip into the upper 50s to lower 60s, with some areas possibly seeing mid-50s. Daytime highs will range from the low to mid-80s under sunny skies.
The quiet weather continues into the weekend as high pressure settles over the region. This will keep temperatures cool, with lows in the 50s Saturday morning. There’s even a small chance some areas could briefly drop below 50 degrees.
Early next week, another cold front will bring cooler air into the region, maintaining the fall-like conditions with sunny days and clear, crisp nights.
