BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — The Baton Rouge Police Department is investigating after a body was found on Wednesday. According to the police, a body was found around 3:45 p.m. by homicide detectives in the 3000 block of East Mason Drive. Police later identified the body as Marcus Spears, 55. Around 7:46 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 8, officers responded to the 10008 block of Avenue L in reference to a public assistance call regarding a vehicle belonging to a missing person, according to the police. According to BRPD, during the investigation, police learned that the vehicle belonged to Spears, who was reported missing on Wednesday by the Addis Police Department.
