BOSTON (WWLP - A newly-published poll shows how Massachusetts voters plan to answer the state's ballot questions. This poll, conducted by Suffolk University and the Boston Globe last week, asked 500 likely voters about their opinions on the presidential race, the economy, and state government, before diving into ballot questions. On question 1, which would allow the state auditor to investigate the financial accounts of the legislature, over 70% of likely voters said they would vote yes. Question 2 asks to get rid of the MCAS standardized tests as a high school graduation requirement, and 57% of polled voters said it's time for the test to go. Uber and Lyft drivers have taken to the polls to get the right to unionize with question 3, and 58% of voters support their ability to collectively bargain.  On question 4, voters are asked whether the state should legalize and regulate some psychedelics--like magic mushrooms. The poll shows voters are deadlocked, with 46% saying they will vote yes and 46% saying they will vote no. The final question asks if the state should raise the minimum wage for tipped workers over the course of the next five years. If this were to pass, employers could then pool tips and distribute them to all non-management workers. 51.6% of voters say they will be voting no, which would mean that the minimum wage for tipped workers would stay the same. Of all voters who participated in the poll, 24% said they were from Worcester or western Massachusetts. You can weigh in on the ballot questions via mail-in ballot, early in-person voting, or by voting on election day on November 5.
