FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - A devastating setback for the family and friends of Orosi teacher Sergio Martin as the sentencing day for the teen who took Martin's life was delayed in court Tuesday.
"So the juvenile that is charged with the murder of the victim, Sergio Martin, was scheduled to be sentenced today, but the sentencing did get continued," said Assistant District Attorney, Erica Gonzalez.

"His family, they're very frustrated, of course, and disappointed. They were all present today and they were prepared to give impact statements and they want that closure."
Tulare County Assistant District Attorney Erica Gonzalez said in juvenile court a continuance is called a disposition.
The juvenile, in this case, admitted to the crime and was supposed to be sentenced Tuesday, but because of issues with his defense attorney not being present and issues with the probation report, she said it had to be continued.

"There had been some additional amendments made to that report, and that was received by the court and by both attorneys this morning," she said.
As for the other two adults charged in this case; 20-year-old Joseph Garcia and 21-year-old Jorge Arrieta, she said there is enough evidence to move forward with trial.
"His loss affected his family and friends and the community," Gonzalez said. "And everyone is still mourning his loss. We will absolutely do everything in our power to seek justice and to obtain that justice."
