VISALIA, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - The City of Visalia will soon "gleam with Pride" this Friday. The Source LGBTQ+ Center announced the installation of a groundbreaking laser that will light up the sky with a vibrant, prismatic rainbow, called "The Gleam." The Source says the idea was inspired by the Sacramento Kings' Beam. Set to be visible for miles, the dazzling lights are meant to celebrate the diversity, resilience, and unity of the LGBTQ+ community. Officials say anyone interested in celebrating the installation can do so at the unveiling on Friday at sundown. The installation will remain active throughout the weekend from sundown until the early morning. The Source says The Gleam is intended to invoke a powerful message of inclusion, safety, and hope— especially in a region where support for LGBTQ+ individuals has historically been limited. The Source LGBTQ+ Center is located at 208 W. Main St. in Visalia.
