One Pronounced Dead after Motorcycle Collision near West Street OCEANSIDE, CA (October 8, 2024) – One motorcyclist was killed Saturday afternoon, and another person was hurt in a motorcycle crash on Coast Highway. The incident occurred shortly before 2:00 p.m., near West Street. Police report that a motorcyclist rear-ended another rider while traveling in a group of six. According to officers, the first rider slowed down after noticing a vehicle preparing to make a left turn. However, the motorcyclist behind failed to stop in time and collided with the first rider. The impact caused both motorcyclists to be thrown into the southbound lanes, where they were struck by a Toyota Yaris. One of the motorcyclists was transported to a nearby hospital, where they later died from their injuries, while the other rider was treated at the scene for minor injuries.
