ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) – The first show in the new season for the CenterStage Theatre at the JCC opens this week. It's the local debut for "What the Constitution Means to Me." The director, Skip Greer, says this breathes new life into our constitution as it looks at today's conversations from a very human perspective. The star of the show, Sara Mayer Fried, resurrects her teenage self who earned college tuition by winning constitutional debate competitions. Then, she goes head-to-head with an actual teen to debate the value of the constitution now. At the end of the night, you get to have a say. "They actually get to vote," Greer explained. "One audience member will come up and vote at the central issue of the constitution in this production and then everybody will be able to vote, and we'll keep a tally and keep posting that for how they feel about the central question in the play." The production opens Wednesday night with shows running through the 20th.
