MORGANTON, N.C. — A man was arrested on October 7th for a murder on Mountain View Boulevard in Morganton. The Burke County Sheriff’s Office says they responded to a home on Mountain View Boulevard just before 11:30am in reference to a shooting. Upon arrival they located the body of 69-year-old Joel McNabb, according to a news release. Investigators say he died from an apparent gunshot wound. Shortly after law enforcement arrived on the scene, Teddy Rathbone was identified as the suspect, according to a news release. Rathbone was located around 5:30pm and arrested by the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office. He has been charged with murder and is currently in the Burke County Jail. No other details have been released at this time.
