MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- A crash in East Memphis left two people dead and roads closed early Tuesday morning, according to Memphis Police. Officers say they responded to the scene just before 3:40 a.m. regarding a two-vehicle crash on Getwell Road and Elliston Road. One person was pronounced dead at the scene. Another person was taken to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead. Police say the driver in the second vehicle did not remain on the scene. Due to the crash, all lanes of traffic on Getwell Road and Elliston Road, New Willow, are currently closed. Drivers are asked to seek alternative routes.
