ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Chief Meteorologist Eric Snitil has confirmed the northern lights are out Monday night! GOTCHA! The green glow of the northern lights seen arcing across the horizon tonight. Captured from Webster. pic.twitter.com/2xyK1Jvh3r— Eric Snitil (@EricSnitilWx) October 8, 2024 Eric says the lights are faintly visible to the naked eye, appearing as a milky green arc low on the northern horizon. A camera is able to pick up much more color. Clouds will start to build back into the region after midnight, so those who want a shot at seeing this need to take advantage now versus later.
