Brown County Historical Society celebrates 125 years of preserving heritage with anniversary gala

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) - On Monday, the Brown County Historical Society marked its 125th anniversary at the Hazelwood Historic House and Museum.
Over the years, the society has offered numerous educational programs, events, and preservation efforts, all dedicated to honoring and preserving our community's history.

The society's origins date back 125 years, when concerns arose about the potential loss of our local heritage, sparking the initiative that continues today.

"It's really important that they preserve these things because, if you look at what’s happening at Heritage Hill with all the different activities at the fort, it’s a similar situation here at Hazelwood," said Christine Dunbar, the Brown County Historical Society Executive Director.
A 125th-anniversary celebration gala will be held at Gather on Broadway on Oct. 29.
