Fire danger persists early this evening

We are seeing sunny skies and windy conditions this evening behind a front that passed through the area around lunchtime today. Very dry air has spilled into the region, which is resulting in an elevated fire danger. With wind gusts up to 35 mph still possible early this evening, outdoor burning is strongly discouraged. Any field fires that ignite can spread rapidly.

As we progress into tonight, winds relax out of the northwest, so our fire danger will subside. Look for skies to be mostly clear overnight, with low temperatures dropping all the way down into the mid-40s.

We'll see high temperatures fall into the mid-to-upper 60s on Monday behind Sunday's frontal passage, which will be a nice change! Look for mostly sunny skies and light winds to be in place to kick off the new workweek.

We'll bonce between the upper 60s to the lower 70s through Thursday, with some chilly nights in the 40s as well. Unfortunately, we'll also see the continuation of our sunny and dry weather pattern. We'll hope this can change soon, as we continue to be in need of a good soaking rainfall.
