GASTONIA, N.C. – The Western Carolina chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association held its annual Walk to End Alzheimer’s Saturday in Gastonia. Around 400 people participated in a Promise Garden ceremony with walkers carrying flowers of various colors representing their personal connection to the disease. Money raised in the walk will fund care, support and research programs. More than $85,000 dollars has been raised so far.
