Welcome to SB Nation Reacts, a survey of fans across the NFL. Throughout the year we ask questions of the most plugged-in Detroit Lions fans and fans across the country. Sign up here to participate in the weekly emailed surveys. In this week’s SB Nation Reacts survey, we asked Detroit Lions fans three questions: 1. Are you confident the Lions are headed in the right direction?2. Through 4 games, who is the Lions offensive MVP?3. Who is the Lions defensive MVP? Lions fans' confidence poll results have returned to glory after dipping a bit following the Lions' Week 2 loss to the Buccaneers. From 97% to 79%, back up to 92%, and finally leaping back up to 99% this week after breaking the Seahawks curse with a 42-29 victory. The Lions are 3-1 at the bye and sit comfortably in second place in the NFC North, and while they’re just one game back of the Vikings, Detroit is no longer the favorite to win the division, according to the folks over at FanDuel Sportsbook. So, for those in the 99%, if you're looking for a favorable wager during this bye week, the Lions are +145 to win the NFC North right now. As for the final survey questions, surrounding the Lions' quarterly MVP awards, the results were very much in line with what we were expecting, with David Montgomery and Aidan Hutchinson running away with the MVP vote. To get a closer look into the minds of Lions fans, here are a few of the explanations from the comment section of the original article, lightly edited for length and clarity: Lee County Flydog: “This is easy. Monty. Hutch.” Braamer: “Defensive MVP, the only answer is Hutch.” Guaransheed: “1) Defensive MVP so far. Hutch- by big margin over Kerby. 2) No consensus on offense. Many good options for MVP. Goff/Gibbs/ Mont/ASB/ Sewell and the OL. Here are a few that disagreed with the end results: wickwick: “Defensive MVP should be Kerby. 3 interceptions in the endzone were all huge plays. While Hutch is easily our best defender, the interceptions and timing of them make Kerby MVP thus far.” Obasse: “I wanted to vote for Jamo.” Evokb: “I wanted to vote for Jamo. His addition has added so much to the offense. Of the options listed, I picked Monty. He took over in OT against LA, and his catch and run against the Seahawks kept the pressure on them. Hutch is a no-brainer, but I agree with Jeremy that Kerby is playing like a top safety right now and I think deserves some credit.” Izzo4POTUS: “I would vote for the entire offensive line, Sewell is fantastic but they function as a unit and the offense would be bad if the O-line was mediocre.”
