FORECAST: A sunny weekend across the DMV
Oct 04, 2024
Skies clear out tonight behind the front, with lows falling into the 50s and 60s.
Sunshine will be a staple this weekend as high pressure nestles in nicely. After the last few clouds clear tomorrow morning, temperatures will jump into the upper 70s thanks to the abundant sunshine. Clear skies will allow for a chilly Saturday night, with lows falling into the 50s area-wide. Much of the same can be expected on Sunday, but clouds will return late as another front approaches from the north. This front will bring scattered showers through on Sunday night, with a few showers lingering into Monday morning. Temperatures won't drop immediately, with afternoon highs still in the 70s Monday afternoon, but a burst of proper fall chill will arrive by Tuesday.
A ridge will drop in from Canada and stick around through the end of next week, keeping sunny skies and dry conditions going. Even though that will be the case, temperatures will take a tumble, and it will be jacket weather from Tuesday through next Thursday as a constant northwesterly flow sets up. High temperatures each afternoon will be manageable in the low to mid-60s, but we'll feel the chill at night. Readings around sunrise each day will be in the 40s to lower 50s, with some mountain locations possibly dropping into the 30s.
