LONG COUNTY, Ga. (WSAV) — A 6-year-old child was wounded Friday morning by a self-inflicted gunshot wound according to the Long County Sheriff's Office.
According to Long County Sheriff Craig Nobles, the child acquired a handgun at a home on Sandy Run Road and fired the weapon striking him in the chest.
The child was flown to a hospital in Savannah where his condition is unknown.
Nobles said how the child acquired the gun is under investigation.
