by Anonymous I work as a vendor in one of the big grocery stores. Not one of the blue ones. They have been doing a lot of remodeling and the main bathrooms have been closed for both workers and the public. There are portable bathrooms outside, but they are not usually open until after 7am. Sometimes later if the staff forgets. I get there between 2am and 4am so I can pull my stock and do as much work as possible before the store opens without getting in the way of any of the other workers. The only available bathroom is in the back room, but it is also locked because someone did some graffiti. In order to use the bathroom while I am working, I have to ask permission from the guy who runs the back room, who is already rude to me as much as he can get away with. Several times in the last week, he has stopped working, told me that he is not even on the clock, grumpily awarded me the privilege of emptying my bladder, and gone back to work. On the white board with the schedules, it says his shift runs from 4a-12:30p. I just want to use the bathroom when I’m working. I wouldn’t even know he’s breaking the other law if he didn’t tell me himself. I don’t like having to defend myself. Especially at work. I am definitely in the Portland area. I wish he could just win several million dollars, so he could quit his job and never bother me again. If there’s anyone out there who cares about this shit, please help.
