BETHESDA, Md. (DC News Now) -- Empowering young people to discover their voice and identity through performing arts and theatre, that's what Imagination Stage has been doing for decades. It’s a full-service arts organization for children located in downtown Bethesda."We have a professional theater with professional actors performing for kids all the way from zero all the way up to high school," said Kate Bryer, Director of Theatre. The Women’s Center commemorates 50 years of service with upcoming gala Winnie the Pooh plays at the Imagination Stage. (Photo Courtesy: Margot Schulman: Bryer said Imagination Stage also offers several classes for kids, children and parents. In the Lerner Theatre, there is a full season of four plays including "Winnie the Pooh."“It’s fun to see kids, especially when it’s their first theatrical experience just kinda get taken away with the magic of it all,” said actor Jimmy Bartlebaugh, who stars in the show as Winnie the Pooh. Frederick County Public Schools kicks off Maryland Homegrown School Lunch Week "It’s a lot of fun, it's less than an hour long so it works for a wide age range. We have kids as young as 18 months coming with their families being able to sit and enjoy it," shared Bryer."Winnie the Pooh" will be on stage until Oct. 27.
