NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WLNE) — A man from Fall River who was already on probation for a previous offense was arrested yesterday after police allegedly found him in possession of crack cocaine and a loaded handgun. 28-year-old Ricky Ricardo Lorinzi is facing a number of charges, including possession of a firearm loaded with a high-capacity magazine, threatening use of a firearm, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, and possession of crack cocaine, among others. When Lorinzi was arrested, he had an active warrant out for his arrest. He was previously convicted of firearm possession in January 2023 and sentenced to two years. At the time of this arrest, according to a release, he was on probation out of Fall River District Court. According to officials, during the early morning hours of September 29, units were called to the “Last Round Bar & Grill” for a fight in progress. Upon police arriving, it was learned that a male suspect allegedly had threatened the security staff with a firearm before fleeing the scene in a vehicle that he soon abandoned at the rear of the establishment. From there, he fled on foot, only to be stopped by officers a short distance away at the William Street and Acushnet Avenue intersection.  Police said that within the vehicle from which Lorinzi fled, two bags of crack cocaine were discovered along with a digital scale. Lorinzi had also discarded a firearm in the threshold of a nearby building. He would later be taken into custody by police.  The firm recovered by police was a Taurus G3C loaded with a high-capacity extended magazine filled with 16 9 mm cartridges. Categories: News
