Better still the city regulates what a tow truck driver can charge to unhook your car (the "drop fee"). Now the nice, polite, genuinely concerned tow truck driver will be more than happy to be gracious and kind but sometimes they forget. All you have to do is continue to refuse to get out even if a bunch of other tow trucks show up to help. Just call a nice, kind, genuinely concerned police officer and they will be happy to straighten the tow truck driver out on the details.
