RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- 8News Digital Reporter Dean Mirshahi was joined by Virginia Commonwealth University political science professors John Aughenbaugh and Alex Keena to discuss the Virginia U.S. Senate Debate between Sen. Tim Kaine and Hung Cao. Mirshahi began the discussion by asking our analysts what their main takeaways were. Both analysts agreed that the debate mostly solidified their expectations -- and likely did the same for Virginia voters. Kaine was praised for his professionalism and clear comfort during the debate which the analysts attributed to his experience. However, Cao was also praised by the analysts for successfully telling his story and communicating his political intentions to potential voters.
