39year old arrested in connection to deadly August shooting in Richmond

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- A man was arrested in connection to an Aug. 31 shooting in Richmond that left a 42-year-old local man dead.
At 11:59 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 31, officers with the Richmond Police Department were called to the 2100 block of Fairfield Avenue for a reported shooting.
When they arrived, they found 42-year-old Kennard Hall of Richmond lying on the ground with a gunshot wound. He died at the scene.
During a year-to-date crime briefing on Wednesday, Oct. 2, Richmond Chief of Police Rick Edwards shared multiple updates on ongoing cases, including this homicide.

According to Edwards, 39-year-old Travis Grant of Richmond was arrested on Tuesday, Oct. 1, in connection to Hall's murder. Grant's specific charges were not shared.
