NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — We will continue to watch the Caribbean and the Gulf through the first week of October. The NHC is once again highlighting these areas with a 40% chance of tropical development over the next 7 days. Right now it looks like just a broad circulation may develop by the end of the week or the weekend. We could see something form from that after that point, but with a cold front moving in early next week it would likely stay to our south and east. Either way no concern at the moment. Some tropical moisture from that area though will move into the area on Thursday. Ahead of it look for another pleasant night with lows in the mid 60s Thursday morning to the north with upper 60s and low 70s south. Look for scattered showers to move into the area starting on Thursday. This will continue into Friday with rain chances each day around 50-60%. We got back down to the 30% range for the weekend. Daytime highs will be lower with mid 80s Thursday and only low 80s Friday. Right now this does not look like a huge rain-maker for the area. Expect highest amounts near the coast with just off and on showers and storms inland.
